Wellness Referrals
Dr. Russ and I worked together for almost 9 years and are still good friends. There’s no Bodyworker I trust more and the only person I feel comfortable getting adjustments from. He’s extremely knowledgeable, intuitive, compassionate, honest, and throrough. His Myofascial approach to Chiropractic work is unique and really makes a difference because he incorporates the muscles and tissues into all his adjustments. He doens’t just crack your neck and move on, but takes his time doing myofascial releases that often do the work of adjusting and aligning without any “cracking” required. He’s taught at National Unviersity of Natural Medicine, University of Western States , and East West College of the Healing Arts. I highly recommend him to all my clients as he has been instrumental in my own wellness journey. He has a beautiful office in Revolution Hall with ample parking and a great view of the dog park.
Lily Matson- Pilates Instructor
Lily and I used to work together at Russ Family Chiropractic and she really knows her stuff. I’ve told many clients how Pilates was the thing that actually helped resolve a several years long struggle with herniated discs and sciatica. Before that, I had never tried Pilates, but when I say it was the thing that made the biggest difference in my recovery, I mean it. Working with Pilates instructors like Lily put me back on track to start living a pain free life again. She works out of the Practice Space on Belmont, but also does private instruction. She’s a lovely person to boot and a great addition to your wellness journey.
Shauna Malone- Lymphatic Drainage LMT
Shauna and I have been friends for many years. We worked together over a decade ago at a spa and I’ve been receiving bodywork from her ever since. Not only is she an amazing massage therapist, but she specializes in Manual Lymphatic Drainage. MLD is an incredible massage that helps move and drain stagnate and built up lymphatic fluid. It’s extremely helpful for those undergoing cancer treatments, for post-surgery recovery, and general wellness maintenance. Shauna has also opened up a beautiful little spa in St. John’s with saunas, cold plunges, and movement classes.
Samantha Hargrove- Reiki and Energy Work LMT
Samantha and I have known each other since I moved to Portland in 2011. She’s not only a great friend, but one of the people who inspired me to go to massage school. Along with her incredible massage skills and yoga teacher training, Sam is also a Reiki and energy worker and provides specialized sessions to clear stagnate energy and balance chakras. She is also a life coach and offers Well Being Coaching. Sam is one of my favorite people in Portland, has the best energy and the most infectious laugh. Sam has a beatufiul office in North Portland near the PCC campus.
Virginia Sunseri- Physical Therapist
Virginia is a Physical Therapist who specializes in both orthopedic PT and pelvic floor PT. I have been lucky enough to work with her for both kinds. She’s incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and has a comforting presence. I’ve been especially wanting to work with a pelvic floor specialist for some time, but finding someone trustworthy who I was comfortable with has been a challenge. Virginia is that person. Pelvic floor work is extremely beneficial, especially for those of us going through perimenopause, menopause, or women after child birth. But it’s also very helpful for men and their overall prostate health. Virginia has a concierge practice, meaning she doesn’t have a set office but comes to you and works out of the comfort of your own home.
Stacey and I work on the same floor at the Hollywood building. She’s not your typical fluff and buff esthetician. Her facials are relaxing, but also very therapeutic. She does extractions with her facials and really takes the time to investigate your skin and ask questions about your skin history and goals. Along with facials, she also offers chemical peels and waxing. She uses organic products that feel so good on your skin.
Jessica Tomforde- Death Doula and End of Life Support
Jessica is a friend and client that I’ve known for years. She left the corporate world behind and stepped into the world of grief counseling, end of life planning, and Death Doula. This is something that many people have never heard of, but the process of preparing for death can be complicated on many levels. Having someone there who is trained to help support and guide you or your loved one through their final days can not only be a comfort, but provide relief, clarity and help through the different stages of grief. In addition, she also hosts seasonal gatherings around the Celtic calendar.
